HOLY PAGE

HOLY PAGE is a brand new outlet based in Arizona.

The very first release is from a series recorded between Portland and D.C. in 2008/09, called I've Been Franklin, that's the artwork below and two songs from Settling The Score.

The next is this awesome video directed by Christian Filardo (Vladee Divacc) for the band Waytansea Point

and finally, perhaps my favorite thing on here yet, is this single from Arcsin(100). I know nothing about it, but this song seriously rules, check out the artwork and listen to it below.

February Fourteenth - My Stay, My Home (2011, Stray Frankz)

Download direct or at Stray Frankz

First release since 2009 from the team of Evan DiFlauro (The Sleepy Trees, ARC) and Kevin Horvath (The Sunflower Spectacle)

This is some of their best sounding stuff yet, you can download their two previous ep's from My Idea of Fun and watch this video of them performing "My Stay My Home" last Friday at the Fireman's.

I'm excited to hear more new stuff from these guys, this video is pretty damn promising. Download their ep Kid Friendly from bandcamp.

Video: DUDES - mr. mcalister

Happy Jawbone Family Band - Return of Hotel Double Tragedy (2011, The Spooky Town)

Buy the cassette from The Spooky Town

Newest stuff from VT's Happy Jawbone Family Band made it's way onto Spooky Town cassette recently, and though I haven't heard it yet, I'm certain it's worth the pick up. Last year's Family Matters, is still one of only 3 tapes I have in my car. Check out the song below to see what you're getting yourself into.

New sounds from Sumsun

Two new tracks found their way onto Sumsun's SoundCloud in the past week, nice long ones to put on while you're watching the rain fill all the potholes and broken blacktop in the derelict parking lot outside the only window in your apartment.

Hleger - Back to Stutopia/Nigeria Today!

Hleger - Back to Stutopia (2011)

Hleger - Nigeria Today! (2010)

You can download both of these for free direct from Mount Athos. I came across this earlier this weekend, looks like Hleger is transmitting these Ferraro worship broadcasts out of Cape Town, South Africa and with such grace. The two records above are his most recent. I'm going to throw a few songs down there below, along with a video to a song that completely shattered my mind yesterday morning, but maybe we'll talk about that in a little bit. For now here's a handful of songs from Hleger's three most recent releases as well as a song from another project called Tjut Dream§, that's featured on Nigeria Today!

Hleger - Babboon Grove
Hleger - Babboon Grove-Slight Return
Hleger - Ventura Side A 2 of 2
Hleger - StuartFerraro
Tjut Dream§ - Josh Needs To Go To The Hospital

THIS VIDEO, ok so I hadn't heard this song up to the point of watching this video, and first of all I'd like to point out how awesome that is to begin with, it was made by a guy known as Shaman, who's videos you can watch here and music you can listen to here. As for the song, fuuccckkkk, I'm positive no one on THIS planet saw that sample coming.

White Rainbow - Lays The Boogie Down

White Rainbow - Lays The Boogie Down (2011)

Name your price at Bandcamp

White Rainbow just put out this conveniently upbeat change of pace a couple of days ago. One of my favorite things he's put out since 2007's PRISM OF ETERNAL NOW, which as you probably know is one my personal favorites. This song I'm posting below nails it real quick then keeps it up for another 17 minutes, check it out:

Joe Versus the Volcano - Snowstorm From Static

Joe Stavish has been blowing me away for as long as I can remember. First, early last decade drumming in The Alan Smithee Project with Matt and Mike Miller and then year after year killin' it with A Brand New Jersey. Imagine my excitement when I found this brand new track on Stray Frankz last week, and a little research got me EVEN MORE excited when I found two videos he posted a few months ago. I'm gonna throw the track down below as well as those two videos, expect more as soon as yours truly gets his grubby hands on some.

Mohave Triangles - Haze for Daze

Mohave Triangles - Haze for Daze (2011, Digitalis ltd.)

Download for free off of their Bandcamp

I first mentioned/even discovered Mohave Triangles when I was writing up that MABA TAPES post earlier this week. Since then, I've had all 4 of their recent cassettes on repeat, which are available on a name-your-price scale on Bandcamp and physically through either Sacred Phrases or Digitalis Ltd. and various solid distros.

This one, Haze for Daze came out back on the first of the year, and while the other cassettes get to those drone-zones a little heavier, this one's a two-sided onslaught of bite-sized windows-up cruisers. Check out the A side "Mango Haze" down below, then go pick up the rest.

Girls in the Eighties - Roll With The Punches

I was super excited a few mornings ago to find this reworking of "Roll With The Punches" waiting for me. The song first appeared on last year's Faceless Sonic Boom, one of five Girls in the Eighties releases that you can download from YouthExperiment.

This one's a breath of fresh air, hope to hear some more new stuff very soon.

PLAENS, Lockbox, Deep Magic and more from MABA

So I started this post to tell you about some new tracks up on PLAENS' Soundcloud, who you may remember I mentioned a few weeks back along with the announcement about MABA TAPES. I was also about to start another about new tracks up on the Soundcloud of Lockbox, who you've been hearing a lot on the radio show and maybe you caught that killer track on the Early 2011 Mix, well damn if I wasn't surprised to find both completely cataloged on the MABA website, along with an almost overwhelming amount of new material from BOY MTN, Warning Light, The Electric Nature, Microbird and a whole slew of others, along with an announcement of a forthcoming split between Mohave Triangles and Deep Magic.

Wow, link-world I know, I apologize, but if you really wanna get the real deal (since I'm barely scraping the surface) head on over to MABA TAPES and check it all out.

and since it's what I came here to do, here's the newest tracks from PLAENS and Lockbox, the latter of which you'll be hearing rather early in tonight's broadcast.
