RCRC is proud to present: Ailanthus Recordings

So back in August I made an announcement on Facebook that I, on behalf of Roberto Clemente Rookie Card, would begin the next phase of this infinite project that is whatever this all is. A physical record label. Ailanthus Recordings is that next step, idealized as a means to "place the sound of the internet into your hands". Ailanthus Recordings has now launched featuring 10 releases from 9 artists, limited editions of 50 CD-R's, each in individually handmade cardboard slipcases with full color original artwork.

A lot more on deck, but before we get there, check out the first 10 releases from Ailanthus Recordings.

AR001: Good Amount - Browser

AR002: Lockbox - Mothmen

AR003: Lasership Stereo - Soft Season

AR004: Sky City Cruisers - Suburban Turner Metamom

AR005: RADICALEDWARD - d3xt.dru66$

AR007: ROLLERBLADE - Skeechie Skeechy Bowley Ball

Good Amount - Power (Holy Page, 2011)

buy the tape or download free from Bandcamp

remember when In A Quiet Way came out and I said it was his best record yet? Well that was until Power came out, easily the most evolved, engaging and transcendent Good Amount release to date, plus there's this sick tape of it.

Good Amount - Impulse Try / Waytansea Point - Al Nino

Good Amount - Impulse Try / Waytansea Point - Al Nino (HOLY PAGE, 2011)

Download for free or buy the tape at the HOLY PAGE Bandcamp

I told you a few weeks ago about the new Christian Filardo project Good Amount, well he's already got a full length put together for us and what rules is it's being released as a split cassette with AZ's Waytansea Point. It's a limited edition of 50 with handmade artwork, otherwise you can grab it online but these are moving pretty fast.

I'm gonna throw a song from each side down there for you.

That hiatus is just about done..

So (before and) after my last RCRC radio show, this page was on a sort of hiatus. I've still been keeping up with the facebook page as well as constant connection and collaboration with the SEWER GREATS stable (shittttssss happeninnnn). But I am pleased to say that I'll be back on and up and on with RCRC once more here within this week. I'm gonna have posts up regarding a new Lockbox soundscape, that BOY MTN/Christian Church split on HOLY PAGE, the new ARC ep, the Good Amount full length, Wayne Water's 26-song epic The Vulture is finally finished, Some exclusive Sunflower Spectacle stuff as well as news regarding the new record, My Idea of Fun's explicit involvement with Judgement Day and 2, count 'em 2 new Hleger full lengths. Lot's more where that's all coming from, some news on new comps coming in the coming weeks, a new weekly feature on the site called "RCRC Radio" and that's not everything lined up. This summer rules. This year rules.

Good Amount - "Basic Addition"/HOLY PAGE MEGAPOST

While we haven't heard from Christian Filardo musically for a little while, he's been hard at work with the new HOLY PAGE outlet, which I'll talk about in a little bit. "Basic Addition" sees him making music under the new moniker, Good Amount. It's got that similar vibe as he's got with Vladee Divacc, check it out.

Now I mentioned Filardo's work on HOLY PAGE, boy has he ever been at work. I'd take up pages and pages if I chose to talk about all the awesome content that's been popping up on there. To save you that struggle I wanna throw at you some stuff that's really caught my eye.

First of all, there's the cassette release of Filardo's Enter The Edit Suite, which you can still download free of charge from bandcamp, BUT NOW, you can get the tape too, which features individually prepared artwork and collages from Christian himself, sneak a peak down below and then go to that bandcamp page I've linked you to already and get yourself the tape.

There's the full length Sweat Hard from Michigan's Sweet Sweat,

The fantastic "July" from Idaho's Youth Lagoon

This next one's really awesome, Arizona's Bikelua has this full length out now called Brand New Pants. Along with it, is a .pdf of a story that goes along with the music, I'll share everything you'll need.

Here's a look at the cover of the .pdf and a link to download that as well.

The Wizard of Music

and finally there's this jaw-dropping single from Neptunes out of Phoenix, called "Earthbound"
