I wanted to give you guys a heads up for this killer show that's happening this Friday, here in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at VOMA. Roberto Clemente Rookie Card, Ailanthus Recordings and My Idea of Fun are teaming up to bring you Protect the Wa-Tour aka "The Long Drive" Spring 2012. Which, aside from being an obvious reference toward the current Native American Fresh Water Rights issue, it is also the namesake of a tour from Discotays, Dan K. and Dancestry (who unfortunately had to drop off the tour in Indiana).
So anyway, we've got Discotays and Dan K. coming through, and on the Johnstown side of things we've got The One and Only Matt Miller whom we've focused a lot of attention on here at RCRC and then we've got my own personal psychonautic noise project NYKDLN (new full length Post Radio in the works) opening up the show.
The next cool thing about this show is that Discotays have been working on their new record Dried Meat Jewel, and it's going to be exclusively released live during the show from Ailanthus Recordings. There will be 15 limited edition, handmade CDR's of Dried Meat Jewel available at the show and the record will be released live online and worldwide, during their set (with time-sensitive artwork) available digitally for free.
We couldn't be more excited to do something like this between friends from miles and miles away and would love to see collaborative efforts like this come together more in the future.
See you on Friday!!
One more little update for you guys, RCRC imprint Ailanthus Recordings will also be releasing two more great records in the coming days: a new one from one of our absolute favorite artists, Hleger, it's a full length entitled Musical Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind here's a great cut off of that:
and we'll also be releasing the new one from our friend/awesome dude ~ Ǥ õ § ƪ õ ŵ ~, it's called C☮☯L, you can listen to the whole thing on his Bandcamp, but here's a great look at what he did with his track from the Early 2012 Compilation:
oh yeah, see ya friday, again!
