Hey guys, if it hasn't been obvious, or if you're not in any of our collective groups/talk to me often. RCRC is on a hiatus right now.

I started a new job last week and will pick this place back up once I get a new place to live, my lifestyle right now (no free time/privacy) makes it hard to make this blog what it should be.

Gimme till like mid-February I'd say? I'll be relaunching the radio show on Bummer Bit Radio and getting this blog back, better than ever once I finally move into my own place again and can give you guys the attention and quality you deserve.

RCRC is NOT dead. It's alive and well. There are a lot of great outlets all around us, so keep up with them (if you can considering the ridiculous output levels right now) 2012 is huge.

For the time being, my attention is focused on Ailanthus Recordings, so go listen, buy, rip-upload-and-share that stuff.

I'll be back, so very soon, I love you all, thank you so much for the support you've been giving me over the past two years. YOU are among the many reasons that I'm proud of my life. I promise to pay it forward.

Wellllllll hello you guys, it's been kind of a long time hasn't it? Yeah, like I'm sure you've noticed, the blog here has taken and unwelcome backseat to other projects as well as the "real world" which I will tell you wants to steal your soul, so that you're unable to work toward and reach your dreams and aspirations. Well you know what? that's not happening! Shit's been WILD here at RCRC headquarters.................

Rookie Card CD-R imprint Ailanthus Recordings currently has it's first ten releases available, and will be dropping 4 new records on 01/01/12. Those are coming your way from The Electric Nature, Hleger and Shaman as well as a split coming by way of Sunup Recordings from Quarter Pipe and Politesse. And speaking of Sunup Recordings, AR has been doing some physical distribution for them for Topographic Maps' Moonlander and Lasership Stereo's Lumina. Fuuurrrthermore, expect early 2012 releases from Raw Thrills, Daytime Television koldskål and Discotays.

I've also recently released a transmission from my personal music project NYKDLN, called Scrone Cruise, it was released and is available digitally from Sunup Recordings, has a number on My Idea of Fun, a handful of people will receive a CD-R copy with their purchases from Ailanthus Recordings and I'll have copies at shows. I'll be releasing a new single, entitled Troglodytes aedon, Here I Am And Others within the next two weeks, also on Sunup. Later this month I'll be working on several tracks for a split with Uh and coming in 2012, Field Trip which will be released on CD-R on Stuart Kets' Skate World Tapes.

Now onto what I'm really excited to tell you about! This coming Saturday, December 10th. starting probably around 2 or 3 pm EST (stay tuned to the Facebook Event for the exact time which won't be determined until closer to the date) and going until 10 pm EST, I'll be back on airwaves with WCAL for the first time since May to countdown the top 40 songs of the year and the top 10 albums of the year. After the countdown, I'll be making a very special announcement regarding the future of this website, it's radio show, and everything that goes along with it (it's great news, don't fret). --- The show's going to start with about an hour or more of classic punk rock just like the old days, to give the Southwestern, Pennsylvania inmate population their fix. Toward the end of that, I'm going to play a handful of tracks that unfortunately missed the #40 mark and then we're going to segue into the #10 album and the beginning of the countdown from there. Going on from there, I'll be counting down those 10 albums and 40 songs, and what happens after I'll keep under wraps till the day of the show.

You may be wondering how you can listen to the show, well I'll tell you, there's actually a handful of ways:

- If you're in Southwestern, Pennsylvania, tune in on your radio dial at 91.9 FM
- Listen online to the WCAL live stream
- The show will also be simultaneously streamed on Bummerbit Radio, which is an awesome live-streaming, online radio station.

Throughout the show I'll be updating the RCRC Facebook Page with what's going on on the countdown.

I'm really excited about this Saturday and extremely excited about the future of this website and what 2012 is going to bring. I hope you're excited too, I think you're gonna like it.

So back in August I made an announcement on Facebook that I, on behalf of Roberto Clemente Rookie Card, would begin the next phase of this infinite project that is whatever this all is. Came across Dreampact in the upstart Pittsburgh's Progressive Electronic Music Scene facebook group, started up by the man behind Cosmic Ocean and heavily assisted by DJ/MC 2Liter. The purpose of that group is to organize a new electronic music movement in western PA that is based around the next level and experimental sounds, progressive thinking and ideas, as well as the integration of visual art.

In any case, I don't know too much about this Dreampact project, but there's over 30 tracks on his Soundcloud page, all free to download and I'm digging on all of it. I'm gonna throw a few choice tracks down below, here's to figuring a little more out about what this guy's up to.

I first told you about the new record from The Meets back in October when a demo for the first 14 or so minutes was posted on 101. A few months removed we now find ourselves with the (thus far) finished product (another movement is still in the works). As for this however, Sketch/Tempo Map for LP2 is a Book and CD combo, the book is a "21 page book of hand-notated manuscript paper outlining music on provided CD." 13 individuals played a role in creating what you hear, with a variety of physical instruments. I'll throw a selection from the middle down below, 3 of the shortest pieces in the composition.

In ever-so-proper fashion, The Hit and Miss Engines release their highly-anticipated debut with a staggeringly damn good looking 4 CD Box Set featuring a new full length, three brand new EP's and 4 personally chosen photos from each member of the band, which, much like in that Tech Ep post, almost all have new releases out in the past two weeks; Mike Miller, Emmy Volkar and Dan Oatman. It's an impressive release, when the My Idea of Fun Store opens up (soon) I'd suggest getting your hands on one before they run out, I mean, they're selling this whole thing for only 10 bucks and it sounds fantastic. What else would you expect, some seriously seasoned songwriters at the height of whats happening right now and in their most endearing form. Terrific.

The long-awaited full-length from Technological Epidemic is finally here, we first heard talk of it back in November and heard some of the first demos back in January with the Early 2011 Mix, so happy to finally hear the finished product, which I'll tell you sounds absolutely fantastic. The most coherent and cohesive of their work to date. The past two weeks have also seen personal releases from every single member of the band; Jacob Koestler, Dan Oatman, Matt Miller and Chris Bell who released his eleventh self-published novel entitled The Deflated Generation. It's no wonder Hollow Cost is so damn solid and focused.

The newest offering from Dan Oatman comes at the tail-end a beautifully hand-bound and personally designed book that according to Oatman is "companion guide to the work of the late Carl Reed who lived and wrote at the Saint Vincentian Monastery at Niagara University." The digital download consists of two tracks 20+ and 30+ minutes respectively and shows us that reliably sultry and at times melancholic Lennon/Harrison veneration that we've come to know and love with his work.

This was on My Idea of Fun 101 today, the next to last post in a countdown to later today's Judgement Day release extravaganza (14 new releases to be exact) which will all be here on the page over the next few days. I've seen a handful of them and can say that they really look fantastic, I'm really excited and you should be too. After Endless Mike & The Beagle Club released and heavily toured The Husky Tenor, Brandon recorded Mike performing the album in it's entirety by himself. The 2007 recording was released as MIoF#11: Endless Mike Vs. The Beagle Club.

Recorded two days before We Are Still At War, Endless Mike Vs. The Beagle Club Re-Match followed the album release 17 numbers later at MIoF#77.

I couldn't have been more excited when I found this in my inbox this morning, one of my favorite noise bands, Russia's Asian Women on the Telephone just came out with this 8-song 77-minute long masterpiece one week ago today. I can already say with confidence that this is their best record yet. The most cohesive, coherent and fucking groovy thing they've made yet. It features new music and old music (talk about old music - one of these tracks was recorded when he was only 3 years old) as well as a few from the early half of last decade.
